Well --quite a lot to document since last Sunday's discouraged post!
First of all we had an amazing week off, and had the fantastic opportunity while travelling to meet two families in real and one family "virtually"--- connected with our process.
First of all we spent an awesome fun, encouraging, and hilarious 5 hours with the L----'s who are adopting Z's buddy 'V" who is 12 and in the same school. They also have three kids, and we had a great time with them and their kids, laughing about the process, the craziness of it all, and just getting to know their huge hearts for adoption. You can read their blog here...

We also from them heard about and met via "social media" some new friends who are bringing home "Y" from the same school, who just turned 9..... and they are hard at work raising funds to bring him home. Their story really touched us as we could identify with some of the heartache they have gone thru to become a family. Here is their YOUTUBE link... BRING Y... HOME....it's beautiful. Z is on there in a photo at 8:46.... and now this video is on my FB page as well!!!

Then we traveled on to our next location where we got to relax for a week and one of THOSE days we had the fun of having our other new friends come spend the day with us at the beach, the ones who spent 7
weeks in UA, adopting K and M, two lovely teen girls, making them now a family of 8 (6 kids, 16, 16, 13, 13, 9 and 7). We had an awesome time hearing all about travelling do's and don'ts, adjustments, and the reality of what the kids over there face.
This haunts me.... in the smaller towns, the UA "Mob" knows which day is "release day" for the 16 yo kids who age out, and they park their vans nearby, waiting to capture the girls and imprison them in the life of a prostitute...the girls are told to take the small amount of worldly goods they have and "run like hell" and try to get past the vans..... I hope you can't sleep thinking about this, because I haven't been able to........
So again, PLEASE consider hosting or helping to encourage (financially) someone to host....it's so simple.... ....really is....these kids cannot wait.....imagine telling YOUR daughter to run like hell from the UA mob to avoid a life of torture and hell........
Now to the fun news of the day. We decided to return a day early to get cracking on those last few items. This week is more crazy than usual and so we had the blessing of my parents to keep the other kids and we started the day begging God for mercy and kind souls and the following was DONE!
B's medical (third revision to get it right) -- CHECK
B's salary statement- (held up for past few weeks!! by his company)- CHECK!
Fourth set of fingerprints by the GBI-- CHECK!!
EVERY piece we had ready of the "1000 pieces of paper"-- notarized by some absolutely WONDERFUL ladies at
our credit union, with a lot of laughter and good wishes thrown in-- CHECK!!!
SO...... 999 pieces are done. There is one last piece remaining to be done......and if anyone is a CPA, we could really use you!!! and the entire thing (except for that) is going to be Fed Ex'd Tomorrow, DV!
So, feeling much less blue this week, HUGE praise for getting this all done today and please pray for this last remaining piece to get done FAST and then....it will all go overseas hopefully in a week or less? and will be "registered" and then we wait to hear about court date #1........in God's perfect timing....
Romans 8:28
And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.
Yay! Glad to hear about your progress and especially your encouragement! J
ReplyDeletePraising God with you!!!! It is awesome to be on this journey right behind you. We also really enjoyed meeting & spend time with you all. This has been a spiritual journey as much as anything for us. We are so thankful God was willing to go through all He did to adopt us into His family! Wow! Love so big we can't even comprehend!
ReplyDeleteI'm grateful for y'all--you are my heroes. Praying for you, and can't wait till Z. is home at last.
