It's Official in UA!

Updates........

Confirmed court is Monday at 3 am USA time...
Court means what?
This is when we officially adopt him per UA law.  So it's a big deal. We expect a lot of questions from the judge about our reasons, our intentions, our ability to meet his educational needs, helping him adjust to a new language, culture, etc. should be loads of fun, and y'all will be asleep lol.

we leave Saturday at 3pm. I had a quiet night last night, only got two calls thankfully as the jet lag seems to be worse on second day back! If you ask me. Haha

We return a few days later,  leaving Kyiv at 6 am local USA time and arriving at midnight USA time we hope!!!
But we will be here for J2s seventh birthday. Yay!
 Thanks and lots of love.

Next update.....

Court went well. the judge did not show up until late (like 11:30) but once she did, things proceeded with no hitch.

It was not in a courtroom like we have it was in her office, and there were about ten of us in there, so it was cozy.
We were quite stressed getting there as there was typical big city traffic, plus a wreck, plus when we arrived to get him, he was in a bathing suit and we had to hurry up and change into clothes!!

Anyhow, made it then waited.
She talked quite speedily in Russian as O.  translated and then sent us out to wait (i was holding my breath) and then called us back in and as we all stood, gave the Decree somewhat formally.

Z decided he wanted to go back to his orphanage for the rest of the day, it's hitting him that he is saying good bye to the only life he remembers, so I am REALLY glad for this past few weeks of transition time and the upcoming ten days he has left there the other kids.

Thanks and see you all soon!

Next

B is leaving this week to go back and finish the exit process...it's a PROCESS still!
You would think that we could just pick him up at the orphanage and then buy a plane ticket, but NO!!!!

We have to get a copy of the "Decree" that states he is our son and we are his parents then obtain a new birth certificate, listing us as his parents, then obtain a Ukrainian pass port for him, and then get a "VISA" to enter the USA..all tedious steps that will take one to three days each. I hope for one!!

Hopefully then he will be home.

All this and mom has to be at home with the other kids, starting three new schools, still trying to work long days as work is unusually busy and it's just a crazy story.

So if we forget something please grant us grace.
And pray for speedy process and fast processing of the last tedious pieces of the "!000 pieces of paper" that began this journey about a year ago!

many thanks

us.
